Which formats of image and multi elements are supported by DoublePics?

Basically all formats, which can be decoded via WIC and DirectShow are supported.

WIC (Windows Imaging Component) is an integrated component in Microsoft Windows for decoding image formats. It appears as the counterpart of DirectShow which allows decoding movie formats. WIC can be extended by codec packs, and thus allows the decoding of image formats, such as RAW files from cameras, which are incurred after a release of DoublePics.

In the basic installation of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, ...) WIC supports the following image formats: BMP, DDS, GIF, HD Photo, ICO, JPEG, JPEG XR, PNG and TIFF. see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windows/desktop/gg430027.aspx

DirectShow - or formerly ActiveMovie or DirectX Media - can be used for processing video and audio files, whereby you can replay various types of video files (AVI, MPEG, ...).

Yes, that's no problem at all.

How do I activate my DoublePics license?

Call the license management in the Help menu, log in and use the function of selecting, creating and using the license file in the following dialog. Then restart DoublePics. More about this topic may be found here .

May a database be created incrementally?

Yes, DoublePics can add new images to an existing database anytime. It detects which image files were added since the last analysis. This means that increasing data volumes need don't have to be re-read constantly.

Where can I find a protocol, log files or the job directory on my computer?

The path depends on your operating system. In the standard configuration, the environment variable ALLUSERSPROFILE will be read out.

No, the server also runs under

Is there a need for a separate computer with DoublePics C/S?

No, a specific Windows server or computer for this purpose is NOT necessary. The server version can be installed on any PC (which has the installation requirements). The DoublePics server runs in the background.

How can the directory's return index of DoublePics CS-server be adapted?

Adjust the ResultStorageDIR option in FileJobServerApplicationSettings.config an.

How much memory is required for the DoublePics server?

It depends on the work amount (sum of the number of patterns of the reference database and Suspect database). An image pattern requires about 2KB RAM. So, a reference database of 500,000 images uses about 1GB of RAM. Added to this, there are still around 100MB memory required as well for the program code of DoublePics server version.

Can the search parameters be adjusted by the DoublePics server?

Via Cockpit C/S each search request individual can transfer individual search parameters to the server . The default values can be adjustable via filejobserverapplicationsettings.config.
